Journal of Game Development

Schedule

Please feel free to submit papers for the next issue at your earliest convenience. Papers are continually accepted.

General Submission Guidelines

Any article to be considered for publication in The Journal of Game Development (JOGD) must include these components and meet the following criteria:

Originality

Papers must be original, never published in any form, media, or presented at any conference. Articles cannot be submitted to other journals while under review for JOGD.

Abstract/Article

Every submission must include an abstract and a full paper. The abstract should provide the editorial board with concise information about the content of your paper. In 2 or 3 paragraphs, it should outline the general scope of the article and state the conclusions drawn. It should be suitable for direct inclusion in abstracting services and should not exceed 200 words. Because contemporary information-retrieval systems rely on the content of abstracts to identify relevant articles in Web searches, you should consider issues such as the title, key words and terms, etc. The full articles should include the following:

  • Authors' names, affiliations, complete address, and e-mail address
  • Title page with title of article
  • The abstract
  • Text of the article in Microsoft Word (divided into section/subsections, with figure captions)
  • Bibliography/References(detailed)
  • Illustrations/Line Drawings
  • Potential referees (optional)
  • Assignment of Copyright Form (print, fill in the appropriate material then sign and fax or mail)
  • Please do not embed the figures into the article, but supply them as separate tiff or jpeg files

General Preparation & Format (see detailed production guidelines prior to submission).

Please prepare your articles in Microsoft Word using Times Roman 12 point type and set section and subsection headings at 16 and 14 point respectively. Articles should average twenty-five(25) manuscript pages, using three hundred(300) words per page, doubled-spaced, in 12 point Times Roman font, as the norm. If you are using LaTeX, please extract the text into text format, so that it can be copyedited electronically. Final submissions of LaTeX files should be in PDF format. Images and line drawings should not be embedded in the manuscript, but printed separately and saved as .tiff or .eps files. Images should be saved at a minimum of 300 dpi, and should be submitted in color - CMYK. Figures will usually take up a quarter of a page and should be calculated as part of the total number of manuscript pages. Equations should be prepared using Equation Editor, version 1.0, 2.0, 3.0 or MathType; other formats may be acceptable. Please inquire.

Processing of Your Submission

Prior to submitting an article , you must complete the online Author Data Form. This will register your submission and assign a reference number to it. You will be notified upon receipt of the article and given a time-frame of when to expect a response regarding acceptance of the paper. Your submission will be forwarded to the appropriate editorial board member(s), and subsequently, articles will be converted to PDF files for electronic distribution to peer reviewers and the editor-in-chief.

All articles must be submitted in printed form, accompanied by the electronic files on disk or CD-ROM. Please send all material/inquiries to:
